Featuring a suede sole, these slippers are perhaps the most comfortable footwear available for around your house. The Old Friend Softsole Moccasins are handmade, using leather trim binding for the ultimate in durability. These fashionable slippers also feature genuine sheepskin lining, which is nature's best insulator, so your feet will stay warm. These moccasins feature a cushioned insole that absorbs shock, ensuring that your feet last as long as the slippers do.

 

About Old Friend Slippers
Since 1981, Old Friend Slippers has developed a line of slippers unmatched by competitors. Their process produces an almost silk-like feel to their sheepskin. They've removed all textile bindings in favor of garment grade pigskin and have sewn-in detail to avoid any chance of irritants coming in contact with bare feet. Old Friend was also among the first to offer a 100% sheepskin insole instead of the cheaper processed wool used by many. Truly sheepskin specialists, Old Friend offers "wides" and extra large sizes, along with a variety of styles.

 

Sheepskin Care Instructions
Do not immerse in water. Clean suede leather with a damp cloth and diluted, mild detergent such as Ivory liquid. Rinse cloth and rub again. Remove moisture immediately with a dry cloth.

 

Rub sheepskin fleece with a wet cloth and mild detergent. Repeat with rinse water and remove moisture with a dry cloth. Brush fleece lightly to renew nap. Always dry your slippers in the shade, never in direct sunlight.

 

Sheepskin can be freshened with baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda over fleece, let it stand overnight, shake and or vacuum the fleece out the next day. You can also spray lightly with an anti-bacterial spray. Let spray dry before using slipper.

So do not add a size as others tell you, since they are leather they are going to stretch some over time. The lace does wrap completely around the top of the foot so keeping them on won't be a problem when they do loosen up.What surprised me the most, in a good way, was the thickness of the pile. I had a cheap pair I picked up years ago that were wearing out, and they never felt this comfortable, and these get more comfortable in time.The true test of a good quality shearling moccasin is the years that they last. Like I mentioned, I had a cheap pair and they lasted about 12 years before I wore a hole in the sole. I have had heard that these can last up to 20 years. If I remember, I will put in another review in 20 years and let you know how they held up.Honestly, don't wait, go ahead and buy them. I couldn't find these locally, and what I did find was not as nice as these.

I wear these all the time except summer. Good fit, an amazingly durable sole--but the top seam split open at the toe. I'm used to getting a couple of years out of a pair of mocs for less money. These have lasted less than a year. It's especially discouraging to have to buy new mocs when everything except the seams is still in great shape.

          Prior to ordering talked to two people who said the product was made in the USA. This was a gift for my son.. upon receiving them discovered they were made in China. He specifically wanted the moc's to be made in USA. He refused to even try on and I returned them.

          I put it on the first thing I get home and wear it all evening. They are soft and comfortable. it is hard to find a soft soled slipper and these fit the bill perfectly. My only complaint is that the reviews all said they run true to size, but after ordering my size, I had to return them and order one size larger. Those fit perfectly.
